Sometimes we get attached to the struggle. It’s like we get a rush of adrenaline from pushing ourselves to our limits and overcoming what we thought we couldn’t.
In some ways the human experience as a whole is a lot like pushing yourself in a hard workout or the struggle of starting a business. Always chasing after that runner’s high.
It’s hard when you’re in the middle of the struggle, and you just want to quit and complain and cry about the whole thing. But when you finally get to your goal, the struggle is all worth it in the end.
Other times, the struggle seems awfully painful and unnecessary. But usually there’s some kind of personal growth on the other side that could only be obtained from struggling.
There’s usually some kind of reward or goal to reach, if you count becoming a better and stronger person as a reward.
If everything were easy, we would never grow or learn anything.
It’s tempting to want an easy, worry-free life, but everyone struggles in some way. Some struggles are obvious, and others are more hidden or quiet. But everyone has struggles. It’s just part of the human experience.
So if you know that inevitably, at various points in your life you will struggle, why not get as much out of the experience as possible?
If something bad happens, look for the silver lining.
